Each passenger is carried to the edge of space inside their own personal scatter vessel, lifted by a biodegradable balloon filled with renewable hydrogen gas.

Once the spacecraft reaches over 100,000 feet, Aura Flights’ patented intelligent scatter vessel gently releases the full complement of ashes in a soft cascade, where they’re carried around the world in the arms of stratospheric winds.

Over the following months, the ashes gradually descend through the atmosphere before returning to Earth in raindrops and snowflakes, becoming part of nature once more.

Using flight footage captured on ascent and release, alongside photos, videos, music and messages contributed by family and friends, Aura Flights creates a personalised video memorial that honours the passenger’s breathtaking final journey.

Double Memorial

To provide a fitting send-off for those entwined in life, Aura Flights also offers a joint space scattering. Two passengers’ ashes are gently commingled and released together during the same breathtaking journey to the edge of space.
